ACSF Selects NATA to Revitalize and Deliver Online Course
Washington, DC, August 17, 2021 — Effective today, the Air Charter Safety Foundation (acsfdev.com) is launching two e-Learning courses, available free of charge to ACSF members who participate in the Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP). The courses include Introduction to ASAP and ASAP Principles and Administration, and are designed to educate new ASAP program users on the use and benefits of the program. Targeted for the courses are a wide range of aviation safety leaders, including pilots, maintenance professionals, dispatchers, aviation leadership, and more.
The complimentary courses take less than one hour to complete—combined and were developed through a partnership with the National Air Transport Association’s (NATA) Safety 1st Program. Participating companies will use NATA’s Learning Management System (LMS) software to administer, document, track, report upon and deliver the ASAP training program.
Upon completion of the ASAP courses, participants will be able to:
- Articulate the four pillars of value of the ASAP.
- Understand how the ASAP is integrated into a Safety Management System.
- Know how Safety Risk Mangement is employed.
- Understand the process used by the Executive Review Committee to evaluate reports, develop corrective actions, conduct reviews and manage follow-ups.
- Establish an ASAP with ACSF through an FAA Memoradum of Understanding.
- Review evidence for the success of the ASAP.
Additionally, the course content is designed using the latest e-Learning standards and technology capabilities, including:

- Multiple learner interactions, such as quizzes and an exam.
- Developed in HTML5 so the content will play on any device.
- Ability to add or remove students without contacting support.
Bryan Burns, President, Air Charter Safety Foundation is highly enthusiastic about the course launch.
“We’re all grateful to roll out technology that enables the ASAP to build awareness and help aviation organization learn from home or the office,” he noted. “It’s a big plus that, for participants, there’s no need to travel to a workshop training venue or download a PowerPoint.”
Burns added, “NATA was the obvious choice for ACSF to revitalize our ASAP participant training—especially since they offer more than 300 courses on everything from regulatory compliance and pilot training to ground handling and general employee safety. Of course, the ACSF recognizes that other online training platforms are available to our members as well. “
