The Air Charter Safety Foundation proudly honors the legacy of Russell Stuart Lawton with the creation of the Russ S. Lawton Scholarship. This annual scholarship supports undergraduate students in the College of Aeronautics who need financial assistance and are committed to pursuing a career in flight safety. Selected by the Office of Financial Aid, recipients embody the values Russ Lawton championed throughout his remarkable life and career.
About Russ S. Lawton
A graduate of Florida Tech, Russ dedicated decades to improving aviation safety through roles with the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, the National Transportation Safety Board, and the FAA.
As the first full-time employee of ACSF, Russ played a pivotal role in shaping its mission to uphold the highest safety standards. Known for his vision, leadership, and commitment to education, Russ inspired countless colleagues in the aviation industry.
Through this scholarship, ACSF continues his legacy, empowering future leaders to carry forward his passion for excellence in aviation safety. Donations to the fund help ensure that his contributions to the field will never be forgotten.
