Alexandria, VA, May 8, 2013 — The Air Charter Safety Foundation (ACSF) is pleased to announce the selection of Dennis Fox, senior vice president, operations of Executive Jet Management (EJM) and William J. Mayo, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mayo Aviation to the ACSF Executive Committee.
Dennis Fox has 24 years of aviation leadership experience and is a former officer in the United States Army. He has been with EJM for 12 years and leads a department responsible for the regulatory compliance, safety, training and welfare for more than 540 crewmembers operating more than 180 aircraft in owner and on-demand charter operations. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from California State University – Sacramento.
Prior to joining EJM, Fox served as a United States Army officer, and attack and air cavalry helicopter pilot, commander, and trainer in the AH-64A Apache, and is a graduate of the U.S. Army ranger and airborne schools. He served in various assignments in the United States, Germany, Israel, and South Korea, and is a veteran of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
William J. Mayo is President and Chief Executive Officer of Mayo Aviation Corporation, and a member of the company’s Board of Directors. Mr. Mayo joined Mayo Aviation’s executive team in 1986 to direct strategic initiatives and acquisitions. Under Mayo’s leadership, Mayo Aviation has expanded operations through strategic acquisitions that have included Charter Air, Rocky Mountain Intensive Air Care and Charter Ops.
As President and CEO, Mr. Mayo oversees corporate direction and strategy for Mayo Aviation’s operations, including marketing, sales, flight operations, safety and maintenance. He focuses on strategy, leadership, innovation, safety and customers. “My role as the CEO is to enable my people and my organization to embrace the changes that we are facing-if I enable them, change will happen,” remarked Mayo.
Mr. Mayo received a bachelor’s degree in Geology from Tulane University of New Orleans in 1985. Mr. Mayo is a founding member of the Air Charter Safety Foundation, and has been recognized multiple times by the National Business Aircraft Association for his outstanding commitment to aviation safety.
