Alexandria, VA, April 19, 2012 — The Air Charter Safety Foundation (ACSF) is pleased to announce the selection of Dennis Fox, senior vice president, operations of Executive Jet Management (EJM), Skip Moshner, director, flight operations of Galvin Flying Services, and Joe Salata, vice president, flight operations of Flight Options to the ACSF Board of Governors.
Dennis Fox has 24 years of aviation leadership experience and is a former officer in the United States Army. He has been with EJM for twelve years and leads a department responsible for the regulatory compliance, safety, training and welfare for over 540 crewmembers operating over 180 aircraft in owner and on-demand charter operations. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from California State University Sacramento.
Prior to joining EJM, Fox served as a United States Army officer and attack and air cavalry helicopter pilot, commander, and trainer in the AH-64A Apache, and is a graduate of the U.S. Army ranger and airborne schools. He served in various assignments in the United States, Germany, Israel, and South Korea, and is a veteran of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. To learn more about EJM, please click here.
Skip Moshner is a 23-year veteran of the aviation community. He joined Galvin Flying Services in 2010, is responsible for oversight of all flight-related business functions, and serves as director of operations in the air charter department. Additionally, Moshner serves as the management representative for the organization’s safety management system.
Prior to joining Galvin, Moshner gained industry experience as a general aviation flight instructor, on-demand charter pilot, and scheduled airline pilot, where he served as a line pilot, company instructor, company check airman and aircrew program designee. Moshner is also an active designated pilot examiner in the Northwest Mountain Region. He holds a Bachelor of Science in aviation management from City University. Joe Salata has more than 32 years of aviation leadership experience and retired as an officer from the United States Air Force after a 20-year career as a fighter pilot. He served as vice president of flight operations for Flight Options from 2000 to 2005, and was instrumental in the company’s rapid growth to more than 200 aircraft and more than 1,000 pilots and flight attendants. Between 2005 and 2008, he served as vice president of operations at Corporate Wings LLC, one of the nation’s leading aircraft management companies. Salata returned to Flight Options in 2008, and leads a department responsible for the supervision of all flight operations and personnel with more than 100 operating aircraft and 500 pilots and flight attendants.
Prior to joining Flight Options, Salata served as a United States Air Force officer and fighter pilot with a career that culminated in a tour as the operations officer of the 8th Fighter Squadron “Black Sheep,” and then a tour as the squadron commander of the 9th Fighter Squadron “Flying Knights,” which were the nation’s only two F-117 Stealth Fighter squadrons. His military decorations include the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Bronze Star. Salata had combat tours including Operation Desert Storm and Operation Allied Force. His qualifications included the F-111, F-4, A-7, AT-38, and F-117.
Salata holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree in public administration. He is an airline transport pilot and has type ratings in four different aircraft, and is currently qualified in the Gulfstream IV. To learn more about Flight Options, please click here.
